About the Role
tma is looking for a creative, performance-driven Social Media Manager who is comfortable both creating content and managing paid ad spend across Instagram and TikTok.
This is not a “schedule and caption” role.
We’re looking for someone who understands how to build brands through content, trends, and paid media — and can execute confidently.
We work with leading beauty, luxury, lifestyle, retail, and premium consumer brands, so strong brand instinct and attention to detail are essential.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Manage social media accounts across Instagram & TikTok
• Plan and execute monthly content calendars
• Create and shoot content (Reels, TikToks, Stories, trend-led videos, BTS)
• Write strong, on-brand captions
• Stay ahead of trends, sounds, formats, and platform shifts
• Brief designers and creators where needed
• Manage and optimise Meta Ads & TikTok Ads
• Monitor performance metrics (engagement, reach, saves, CTR, ROAS)
• Assist with influencer collaborations and content amplification
• Provide clear monthly reporting and actionable insights
• Work closely with influencer, PR, and client service teams
Requirements
3–5+ years’ experience in Social Media Management
Proven experience creating content for Instagram & TikTok
Comfortable appearing on camera when required
Strong understanding of Reels, TikTok formats, and short-form storytelling
Experience managing Meta Ads Manager
Confident managing paid budgets and optimising campaigns
Strong understanding of performance metrics (CPC, CPM, CTR, ROAS)
Highly organised and able to manage multiple brands
Johannesburg-based
Valid driver’s licence
Preferred
Experience working with beauty, luxury, fashion, or lifestyle brands
Experience with TikTok Ads Manager
Basic video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, etc.)
Agency experience
Strong aesthetic eye and understanding of premium brand positioning
